I’m curious to know if you’ve ever studied the mastermind concept and all of its uses?

If not, what are you waiting for? Is it that you’ve never heard of it before? Is it that you think masterminds are just for high net worth individuals that can afford it? Or do you think that masterminds are just something that was created to sell a high ticket item to unsuspecting prospects and don’t really deliver on the value they promise?

Whichever reason it is for you, I’d encourage you to rethink the way you’re thinking about them currently.

Here’s why.

I’m currently in five separate masterminds. Three are paid. Two are not.

So I’ve got a little bit of inside knowledge as to how they work.

But…

It wasn’t until the last few weeks that I acquired a full understanding of just how powerful, versatile, and varied masterminds can be.

I was reading How to Raise Your Own Salary which I’d first mentioned in Reflections - 018 and as I’d shared then the book is essentially a transcript of Napoleon Hill interviewing Andrew Carnegie about Carnegie’s Laws of Success.

In it there is an entire chapter dedicated to the mastermind and Carnegie’s thoughts around both the formation of masterminds as well as the various applications of a mastermind.

In the book Carnegie shares that the first mastermind in recorded history and the one he got the concept from was Jesus and His 12 Disciplines. And just look at the power of what they created.

Another example of what Carnegie shares is the power of applying the mastermind concept within a business, whether that be within an executive team or within a smaller unit. D

A third example he gives is the power of one of the simplest yet oft overlooked mastermind opportunities between a husband and wife.

These are just some of the areas Carnegie highlights for use of the mastermind.

Remember, Carnegie shared that a mastermind is simply “An alliance of two or more minds, working together in the spirit of perfect harmony, for the attainment of a definitive purpose.”

So if you stop and think about all the chances and opportunities you have to form an alliance of two or more minds, don’t you think it would be worth understanding how to get the very most out of them?
