I want to share two of my favorite quotes from Andrew Carnegie in How To Raise Your Own Salary.

The first is this:

| “We preach sermons and offer up prayers in the name of Christ, yet we rarely make more than a gesture at following His admonition for us to liquidate our problems through the simple state of mind known as Faith.”

Whether you believe in God or not the question is this - if you do believe, and you believe in the infinite power of God, are not all things possible through that power? And doesn’t that make any petty grievances, fears, or limitations both human and your own?

When people talk about beliefs that serve them this has definitely been one of mine. It guided me when I was in the Marine Corps and it continues to guide me to this day.

The only limitations man has are self-imposed.

My second favorite quote from Carnegie is this:

| “I feel that mankind needs the quickening influence of plain speech to shock people into recognizing that everything they need or want is already within their grasp. All they need to do is to take possession of their own minds and use them.”

This is another belief I have that’s supported me throughout my life. There’s a reason I named my companies Mind Vault, Unlock Your Mind, and Unlock Your Business.

Because everything you need is already inside of you waiting to be unlocked.

And it’s why I’m on a mission to unlock the potential in the middle-class.

Andrew Carnegie and his family immigrated to the United States from Scotland, in debt, and without a penny to their names. Carnegie started working at the age of 13 making $2/week and went on to be one of the wealthiest men in America.

I fully believe that that same potential rests inside of you and inside of me.
