Day 064 - On The Prime Directive

Monday, March 04, 2024

Do you have a Prime Directive?

This morning, as I was taking my Siberian Husky Ares for his morning walk, I had an idea pop into my head.

It was the idea of the Prime Directive, and how it can be used in place of the phrase Life’s Mission, Definite Chief Aim, or Definitive Purpose.

As you may recall from Reflections 037 you set your Direction in alignment with your primary mission in life, your calling, your purpose.

Likewise, a Prime Directive is an order or mission which presents the overriding control over a course of action.

In Robocop the prime directives are unfathomable rules that Robocop must obey.

In Star Trek the prime directive are the guiding principles that no member of StarFleet is ever to break.

Your Prime Directive is what sets your Direction in life.

And, like in Robocop, you should treat it as something you must obey, you must remain disciplined around, you must fixate and focus your energy towards.

I’m still working out some of the more minute details in my head, but it’s an interesting concept to think about.

One that is soon to become an explicit part of the Direct - Adapt - Iterate success philosophy, so I’ll be sharing more soon.

Until then…

Death - Before - Dishonor

To your success,

Nate
