Have you ever taken the time to think about the questions you ask yourself?
They say the quality of your questions dictates the quality of the response you receive. I.e. if you’re not getting the response you want, ask a better question(s).
Questions have a direct correlation to your success. They help you determine good decisions from bad decisions. High quality vs. low quality. Right from wrong.
Questions are the set of filters you use to make decisions. Whether you consciously ask yourself the questions or not, they’re there. And they’re guiding your decisions each step of the way.
In Reflection 051, I shared The Fifth Key Assumption of NLP - The Map Is Not The Territory.
In essence, your map is the set of filters you’ve created for yourself throughout the years. And without good filters, the system gets clogged. It gets bogged down.
So, a key question is: how do I ask better questions so I can create better filters? Questions that help to reduce friction rather than create it? Questions that allow me to process information quickly, accurately, and confidently.
Questions that provide clarity and empower me to take action? Questions that act as a filter to guide my decisions?
One way is to pay for speed. To get yourself a coach. Someone who will act as an outside resource and get you to ask better questions. Develop better solutions. Create better filters.
Another option would be to form or join a mastermind. When two or more people join in a common purpose and form a mastermind a cosmic synergy forms. You can then leverage that synergy to challenge your way of thinking.
Create better filters.
A third option is to leverage The Art of D.A.I. Journal I shared yesterday in Reflections 072. As Direct - Adapt - Iterate is an iterative process, it’s designed to help you ask yourself better questions.
It helps to identify the nuances you’ve likely missed. It's an iterative loop.
Each improvement in your questions leads to an increase in speed with each iteration.
And, similar to the OODA Loop, whoever can cycle through the process the fastest wins!
So, one question to reflect on is: how do you ask better questions to create better filters? The answer, The D.A.I. Journaling process.
Death - Before - Dishonor
To your success,
Nate
