Day 054 - On The Eighth Key Assumption of NLP

Friday, February 23, 2024

I wonder how many of you reading this have ever felt like you’re a failure? Whether it was a fleeting moment after failing a test, losing your job when you least expected it, finding out a fellow entrepreneur has scaled twice as fast as you have, or just feeling like you can never measure up, I’ve got good news for you!!! And it’s the either key assumption of NLP...

Day 052 - On The Sixth Key Assumption of NLP

Thursday, February 22, 2024

What would happen if everyone in the world was recognized to have the same level of value? No one person being labeled as better than another. Imagine how different the world would be if that were the case. I won’t go so far as to say that there would be no wars, racism, criminal acts, etc, but the world would certainly be a different place. And while the sixth key assumption of NLP doesn’t quite go that far either, it does bring a very interesting point to light. The sixth key assumption of NLP is...

Day 053 - On The Seventh Key Assumption of NLP

Thursday, February 22, 2024

Have you ever witnessed a kid do something that made you think… “what the hell did they do that for” or “why the hell are they acting that way”? Or maybe you, like me, wonder what motivates someone to do something. Whether that be positive or negative you question the motive. The seventh key assumption of NLP gives us some insight in those areas. It says...

Day 051 - On The Fifth Key Assumption of NLP

Tuesday, February 20, 2024

Aside from when you read it in Reflections 046, had you ever heard the phrase “The map is not the territory”? It’s the fifth key assumption of NLP and it brings up two very interesting points to Reflect on. The first is that we all create our own, highly personalized maps of the world. Your map is your map and my map is my map. Your customers maps are their maps, your kids maps are theirs. Everybody’s map is their own. Almost like it’s their own unique finger print. But unlike our actual finger prints that can be used to unlock things like your phone, or safes, this unique finger print… this map… is the key to understanding the way someone processes the world around them. It’s their own personalized gps. It determines whether something is good or bad, sad or happy, noble or disgraceful. Getting curious about understanding other peoples maps is the first key to endless curiosity. It’s the key to untold levels of connection, rapport, and influence

Day 050 - On The Fourth Key Assumption of NLP

Monday, February 19, 2024

Have you ever wanted to make a change in your life, and just weren’t sure how to do it? Maybe you wanted to change your diet and lose some weight. Maybe you wanted to increase your email list and weren’t sure where to start. Maybe you have a negative thought pattern or a phobia you want to get rid of. No matter the change, I’ve got good news for you… We all have the resources we need to make those changes already within us. You have it! I have it! Everyone has it! It’s the fourth key assumption of NLP

Day 049 - On The Third Key Assumption of NLP

Sunday, February 18, 2024

Have you ever paid attention to the subtle nuance with which you experience the world around you? From the moment you were born you’ve been either seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting, or smelling things. As kids, it’s a stimulus response world. You experience a stimulus through one of your five senses, you respond in some way, you learn from your very next experience whether or not the stimulus was “good” or “bad” and you start the process over again. Those moments are the very beginnings of the process of learning, but we somehow forget this as adults, or maybe we think we’re somehow more sophisticated or evolved. The fact is you still process the world through your five senses, and you communicate this way too.

Day 048 - On The Second Key Assumption of NLP

Saturday, February 17, 2024

We’ve all experienced miscommunication at some point in our lives. I’m sure you, like me, can think of more than a few times when you’ve said something and it was taken the wrong way. Or maybe you had a parent that, like mine, would frequently remind you that it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. In neuro-linguistic programming that premise goes even further with the second key assumption of NLP which states: “The meaning of communication is the response you get.” These are my Reflections

Day 047 - On The First Key Assumption of NLP

Friday, February 16, 2024

Have you ever found yourself in a situation and just wished you could change it? Maybe you found yourself hosting a virtual event where you wanted to have hundreds of people in attendance, and you only have two. Maybe you look back on your life and wish your parents had been more loving, more supportive, or just altogether different. Maybe you just lost a big sale, your biggest client, or your business is in trouble. Oftentimes, the situations we find ourselves in, whether through our own doing or not, are in a way, unchangeable. The content itself cannot be changed. These are my Reflections

Day 046 - On The Key Assumptions of NLP

Thursday, February 15, 2024

In the Oxford dictionary a presupposition is “a thing tacitly assumed beforehand at the beginning of a line of argument or course of action. In the field of linguistics known as pragmatic, a presupposition is an implicit assumption about the world or background belief relating to an utterance whose truth is taken for granted in discourse. In layman's terms, it means something is assumed to be true, i.e. presupposed, in order for the sentence, statement, or belief to be true. These are my Reflections

Day 008 - On The Meaning of Communication

Monday, January 08, 2024

Exploring the essence of communication, this highlights that it serves to inform, express feelings, imagine, influence, and meet social expectations, with the ultimate meaning being the response it elicits. It delves into the challenges and realities of effective communication, particularly in marketing, emphasizing the importance of adaptability, persistence, and trial and error in achieving desired outcomes and engaging audiences.
